The Advanced II English course for Computer Science students focuses on expanding students’ academic reading skills in topics related to their subject major: Innovation and Technology’s Impact on Society. Within an AI assisted format, the course includes strategies for reading comprehension (previewing, skimming and predicting; identifying the main ideas and supporting details; scanning for specific information; finding and understanding text organization patterns), writing (outlining, taking notes, and synthesizing information while expressing an opinion), speaking (expressing opinions, persuasive language, and the language of trends) and improving vocabulary (using textual clues to understand words in context; awareness of word formation), and listening skills.
